Yesterday, the Port of Trelleborg hosted our customer Stena Line’s annual Group Tug Master Competition! A total of 11 drivers from six different European ports had qualified for the competition, of which two were stevedores from the Port of Trelleborg.
In this international competition, the tug master driving is put to the test with various precision and safety skills. The different competition elements were:
🔹Pre-use checks
🔹Slalom challenge
🔹Blindside reverse
🔹Distance perception
🔹Tea bag challenge (like “pen in the bottle”)
It was really exciting to watch!
And who was the absolute most skilled and sharpest driver behind the wheel? Well, Jimmy Larsson Bergenholtz at the Port of Trelleborg! We are very proud of our incredibly talented employee!
A big thank you to everyone involved! And especially to Peter Quigley at Stena Line in Liverpool, who initiated the competition that started during Covid, to highlight the invisible but extremely important work that the stevedores do when loading and unloading goods.
