Personal data processing

On 25th May 2018, the new data protection regulation (also known as GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation) will replace the Swedish Data Protection Act. Here you can read about how Port of Trelleborg handles personal data and what rights you have as a registered person.

Personal data is information that can be linked to a person. It may be a name, but it may also be information that, in combination with other data, makes it possible to identify a person.

The following are examples of personal data:

  • a name
  • a postal address
  • an e-mail address
  • location information
  • bank details
  • a photo (if you can identify the person in the picture)
  • an update on social media

Throughout this article we use the term “processing”, which covers all the various actions involving personal data, i.e. collection, handling, storage, sharing, access, use, transfer and deletion.
