Digi MoS

In our project “Digi MoS” (Optimization and greening of traffic flows on the TEN-T corridors connecting Scandinavia and the continent), Port of Trelleborg together with “Lubecker Hafen”, “Lubeck Port Authority” and “TT-Line”, have been granted co-financing from the European Commission’s fund for a connected Europe, the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and the priority area “Motorway Of The Sea” (MoS). In this project, the Port of Trelleborg acts as coordinator as we are the party with the highest investment in the project.

The project’s main focus is to improve and develop the transport corridor, where the activities are part of the long-term digital and environmental work that the Port of Trelleborg is continuously working on.

The following activities are included in the project on behalf of Port of Trelleborg:

1) Optimization and adaptation of the side ramp in ferry berth no. 10 to accommodate the new enlarged LNG-powered vessels from TT-Line

2) Optimization and adaptation of the side ramp in ferry berth no. 11 to accommodate the new enlarged LNG-powered vessels from TT-Line

3) Streamline the trailer handling for Port of Trelleborg as well as for its customers

4) Installation of new cameras and measuring equipment to improve traffic flows in Port of Trelleborg

The project extends between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2024.

Green Fit 2025

Port of Trelleborgs project “Green Fit 2025” was one of six projects that was granted co-financing from the European Commission’s fund for a connected Europe, Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).

The project goes by the working name “Green Fit 2025” (Clean and efficient multimodal hub in Port of Trelleborg) and runs until 2024. “Green Fit 2025” aims to continue the expansion and port relocation that began in 2012 to the southeast.

The following activities are included in the project:

1) Construction and validation of 2 new large ferry berths (no. 11 and 12)

2) Installation of two wind turbines in the port to provide electricity to ships

3) The construction of a wastewater reception facility and a treatment plant to support waste management

4) Improved handling of intermodal trains and rail connections

The project extends between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2024.

MoS Sweden-Poland Sustainable Sea-Hinterland Services

Project partners: Port of Trelleborgs, Port of Szczecin Świnoujście, Swinoujscie Ferry Terminal, Trelleborg Municipality and Unity Line.

Comparing this project with the previous MoS Sustainable Trelleborg-Swinousjcie MoS Services, this project, covers also works and studies but in this project the studies will be made in Sweden and the investments in Poland. Since Port of Szczecin Świnoujście and Swinoujscie Ferry Terminal applied for money from the cohesion fund we made and submitted two identical applications. Our common aim is to upgrade our ports’ infrastructure, developing intermodal transport and integrating with hinterland corridors in order to be able to handle the same kind of vessels and intermodal traffic in the ports on both sides.
Lead partner is Port of Szczecin Świnoujście

The project extends between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2022.

REDII Ports

Port of Trelleborg will conduct a study on the future capacity need for truck charging stations in port, considering the investment and development plans of relevant manufacturers as well as the haulers’ plans for replacing current truck fleets with new ones running on green fuels. Based on a set of indicators/market factors, a model to estimate the charging needs and infrastructure needed in ports will be realised. This will be turned into an open-source planning tool for all ports to use to meet the requirements of, e.g., the Fit-for-55-package. The tool will also be able to reversely predict the scope 3 emissions reductions that can be achieved by a certain amount of green charging, thus aiding ports in setting science-based targets.

The project will receive financial support from the Interreg North Sea Programme.

The project extends between September 20, 2022 and September 20, 2025.
