Combi – Shunting
Port of Trelleborg offers in-house shunting of wagons for intermodal terminal in cooperation with the company VÄTE (VÄxling TErminal). VÄTE’s personnel is responsible for the operation and the port is responsible for the management staff. Currently, there are daily trains to Eskilstuna. Green Cargo shunts their own trains in the port.
Intermodal transport, i.e. a combination of rail, sea and road, is the most environmentally friendly way to get your goods. Port of Trelleborg, with the ambition of being Europe’s most sustainable RoRo port, has worked to ensure that a larger proportion of trailers and containers choose the train to and from Trelleborg, a work that has had a fantastic development in recent years.
