Last week, the por
t’s employees Ulf Sonesson and Jessika Böös participated in a partner meeting in our EU project “REDII Ports” in Emden, Germany.
For the Port of Trelleborg, the project aims to conduct a study and investigate how the energy needs for long-distance truck transports will develop in order to gain an understanding of how much of the future will be powered by electricity, diesel/HVO, hydrogen or other emerging energy solutions.
Based on a set of indicators and market factors, the project will create a powerful model that shows the energy needs for the years 2030, 2040 and 2050, and which gives the port the opportunity to plan smartly, anticipate changes and design the infrastructure and areas required to meet tomorrow’s transports.
The project extends between September 20, 2022 until March 2026.
The project will receive financial support from the Interreg North Sea Programme.
