The onshore power facilities have now been installed in ferry berths no. 10 and 11. A lot of work and connections remain, but in early 2026, TT-Line will be able to connect four of their vessels to electricity in the Port of Trelleborg.
By using onshore power, vessels can turn off their auxiliary engines while being alongside berth, which reduces emissions of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and particles, as well as reducing noise.
The port’s two own wind turbines will supply the vessels with fossil-free electricity.
The Port of Trelleborg has been granted co-financing in the EU’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) in the Baltic Green NET project.
