Tests of the onshore power facilities successfully completed

We have now carried out tests of the onshore power facilities at ferry berths no. 10 and 11 on TT-Line’s vessels Peter Pan and Nils Holgersson – and everything has gone according to plan.

The next step is to carry out tests with the vessels Tinker Bell and Akka. Once these are completed, four of TT-Line’s vessels will be able to connect to onshore power in the Port of Trelleborg.

By using onshore power, vessels can turn off their auxiliary engines while being alongside berth, which reduces emissions of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and particles, as well as reducing noise.

The port’s two own wind turbines will supply the vessels with fossil-free electricity.

The Port of Trelleborg has been granted co-financing in the EU’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) in the Baltic Green NET project.
