Film about the EU project “Green FIT 2025”

Between January 2021 and September 2025, we have made several significant investments in the Port of Trelleborg to strengthen both capacity and sustainability.

✅ Built two new ferry berths (11 and 12) – 250-meter-long ferry berths for future RoRo traffic, with three ramps and eight hectares of parking areas.
✅ Two 120-meter-high wind turbines that produce approximately 15 million kWh/year and enable fossil-free electricity supply for, among other things, onshore power to the vessels.
✅ New treatment plant that handles the vessels’ wastewater in a sustainable way.
✅ Track extension in the intermodal terminal, which means that we can now switch in full trains and thereby streamline train handling and increase intermodal traffic.

Through the Green FIT project, we have created modern infrastructure that ensures that the Port of Trelleborg continues to be a competitive and sustainable node in Europe’s transport chains.

The investments include:

▪️more efficient handling of vessels and intermodal transports
▪️less emissions and noise
▪️better energy supply
▪️a port that is better equipped for future freight transport

The project is co-financed from the European Commission’s fund for a connected Europe, the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).

A big and warm THANK YOU to all contractors, partners and others who contributed to the success of the project! Peab Anläggning, Enercon, Trafikverket, Marinfloc, CINEA, CEF and others.
