Stena Line launches a new freight connection between Bettembourg in Luxembourg and Trelleborg in Sweden, which is a further step in Stena Line’s journey towards offering more comprehensive logistics solutions than from quay to quay only. The new line is launched in collaboration with the multimodal service provider CFL multimodal and the ports in Rostock and Trelleborg.
The new intermodal connection includes trains between Bettembourg and Rostock, and further by ferry to Trelleborg. The train will make three round trips per week and offer great flexibility in the form of freights. From Bettembourg there are many connections to France and Spain.
Port of Trelleborg, with the ambition of being the Baltic Sea’s climate-smartest port, has worked to ensure that a larger proportion of trailers and containers choose the train to and from Trelleborg, a work that in 2020 has had a fantastic development. It is extra gratifying that our network in the south will now also include intermodal, sustainable transports to both France and Spain.
Port of Trelleborg also see an opportunity to be able to include normally non-liftable trailers in the future, which we hope can be a welcome addition for refrigerated trailers.
