Germany is a very important trade partner to Sweden and today we had the great honor of receiving Germany’s ambassador to Sweden in Port of Trelleborg, Dr. Joachim Bertele and also Gabriela Schütz, the Trade Councilor.
CEO Jörgen Nilsson and Communications Manager Petronella Ljungh took the guests on a port tour and informed them about the port’s development, intermodal traffic, Port of Trelleborg’s Academy and environmental initiatives.
Dr. Joachim Bertele was also curious to hear about what the collaboration looks like with our sister ports in Germany. Jörgen Nilsson told that we work closely together and have very good dialogues with the ports of Rostock and Travemünde. It is also important to have good cooperation when we are going to make different investments, since it is necessary that we invest on both sides of the Baltic Sea.
The visit ended with a lunch together with the Municipality of Trelleborg’s Mayors Mathias Andersson (SD) and Bert Westerberg (M) and the Director of the Municipality Gisela Öst.
Thank you for very interesting discussions about what Sweden can learn from Germany and what Germany can learn from Sweden.
