THAB Academy visits Port of Liverpool

Port of Trelleborg continues to invest in the employees. After a corona pandemic with restrictions as a result, we are now kicking off THAB Academy again.

The first group of THB Academy that started in the spring term 2019 is now in its second and final year. As a “grande finale”, the internal education program now ends with a very interesting study visit to the Port of Liverpool. Here, the students got to experience Stena Line’s RoRo operations and got to see how they deal with a challenge that we don’t have in Trelleborg, namely a tide difference of 11 meters!

Port of Trelleborg’s own academy, THAB Academy, runs for two years with 12 students. The goal of the investment is to create Europe’s best port service, keep up with the development and to give more employees the chance to reach new career opportunities, when suitable vacancies will arise, such as team leaders or specialists.

Each training opportunity focuses on a strategically important subject area for the port, for example satisfied customers, environment & sustainability, logistics, infrastructure, communication, organization & leadership, finance, digitalization and IT. Course instructors are experts within the company as well as external lecturers. In addition, study visits to other ports are included.

The internal education program has received a very good response in Port of Trelleborg and many employees have applied to THAB Academy for personal development and with the chance to reach new career paths.

The next group of students, which had just started when the corona pandemic broke out, will start now in November. We are very much looking forward to that!
