The expansion continues according to plan in Scandinavia’s largest RoRo port. Port of Trelleborg’s relocation and expansion is made, among other things, to accommodate larger vessels. In 2022, TT-Line’s new environmentally friendly Green Ship is scheduled to be put into operation, just in time until four new ferry berths will be ready in Port of Trelleborg.
TT-Line has signed a contract for one new TT-Line Green Ship, with an optional order for one further vessel. The new vessel will have a major positive impact on the environment as it will be powered by LNG (liquid natural gas). TT-Line’s new Green Ship will reduce significantly more than 50% emissions while still maintaining the speed. Port of Trelleborg, with the goal of being the Baltic’s climate smartest port, is very positive about this.
Did you know that the vessel will have a length of 230 m, is designed to carry 800 passengers and more than 200 trucks and trailers and also that there will be 20 charging stations to charge electric cars on the crossing?
