A vessel comes loaded with ramps

As a result of the pandemic, the ramps to our new ferry berths and all steel coming from China have been delayed and therefore these ferry berths will be completed during the first quarter of 2022.

The ramps are loaded on “Rolldock Sun” which departed from Shanghai in China on November 29, 2021. Last week the Suez Canal was crossed and right now “our” ramps are in the Mediterranean north of Algeria. They are expected to arrive at Trelleborg Harbor on 4 February. If you want to follow their journey go to www.marinetraffic.com and search for “Rolldock Sun” (NL).

There are four ramps on board. A side ramp to ferry berth 10, adapted for TT-Line’s upcoming new vessels Green Ship, a main ramp and a side ramp to ferry berth 11 and a main ramp to ferry berth 12. The main ramps weigh approximately 110 tonnes each and the side ramp parts weigh between 43-65 tonnes.

When the ramps are installed and Peab has completed the ferry berths, we are really looking forward to welcoming TT-Line’s first new Green Ship, which is 230 meters long, 31 meters wide and holds 800 passengers and more than 200 trucks and trailers. TT-Line’s environmentally friendly Green Ship can also be operated with LNG (liquefied natural gas), which will reduce emissions by more than 50 percent.
