On March 6, Port of Trelleborg together with Stena Line arranged the third partner meeting in our EU-funded Interreg project “Blue Supply Chains”.
The Blue Supply Chains project supports port authorities and port operators to decarbonise port operations by advancing electrification, providing alternative fuels strategies and setting up green transport chains.
The Port of Trelleborg participates in the project together with Hamburg Marketing, Port of Rostock and Stena Line, where together they will develop the already existing transport chain between Trelleborg and Rostock with a focus on low emissions.
Stena Line will focus on optimizing its rail ferry traffic between Trelleborg and Rostock. The Port of Trelleborg and the Port of Rostock will each carry out a capacity analysis on the current railway within the respective port, with the aim of increasing green intermodal terminal handling.
The project runs between January 2023 to December 2025.
The first results will soon be published on the project website Blue Supply Chains – Interreg Baltic Sea Region (interreg-baltic.eu)
