Baltic Ports Conference 2017

The BPO Conference 2017, aimed at all ports and other members of the Baltic Sea’s largest port organization, BPO, became a success.

The conference started already on September 6th with a reception at the City Hall. On September 7, Bogdan Oldakowski, the moderator and BPO’s General Secretary, opened BPO’s annual conference in Port of Trelleborg, where more than 120 people gathered. After the welcome address by the Chairman Julian Skelnik in BPO, the Municipality of Trelleborg’s Mayor Torbjörn Karlsson and Tommy Halén from the Port of Trelleborg, different speakers spoke about interesting themes on how future ports will look like and how they will change and develop in order to remain competitive that engaged the listeners.

The day ended with a dinner at Trelleborgen in company with Trelleborg’s own vikings. An authentic viking battle took place with current topics regarding ports that attracted admiration and horror-filled delight. The viking game received their King in Julian Skelnik who in turn took the opportunity of thanking Port of Trelleborg’s Managing Director Tommy Halén.
